Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer from the late Baroque period. He is well known for his orchestral works such as the Brandenburg Concerti, for his instrumental works such as the 6 cello suites and the Goldberg Variations, and for vocal music, his St. Matthew Passion. He has been generally regarded as one of the greatest composers in western music history as he enriched German styles with his use of counterpoint, motivic organisation and harmony.
Known as one of “the Five”, Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, was an innovative Russian composer. Many of his works were inspired by Russian history, folklore and tradition. His life’s work was to represent the Russian culture and identity in a new light during the romanticism period. The piano suite in ten movements, Pictures at an Exhibition, is Mussorgsky’s depiction of various works by architect and painter, Viktor Hartmann.
Massimiliano Monopoli
Nato nel Febbraio del 2004, inizia lo studio del pianoforte all’età di 6 anni e successivamente si iscrive al Conservatorio Piccinni di Bari. Nel 2013 vince il Primo Premio al 6° Concorso Pianistico Mirabello in Musica, Presidente della Commissione Bruno Canino. Nel 2014 vince il Primo Premio al 15° Concorso Pianistico Stravinsky e l’anno seguente, nel 2015, vince il Primo Premio Assoluto e la borsa di studio. Nello stesso anno vince il Primo Premio Assoluto e la borsa di studio al 6° Concorso Pianistico Eratai. Nel 2018 si esibisce al Teatro Municipal de Sardoal (Portogallo) al “Coimbra Piano Meeting”. Selezionato più volte tra le eccellenze, nelle audizioni del Conservatorio Piccinni, a Maggio del 2018 si esibisce al Napoli Piano City. Nel 2019 suona per il Barletta Piano Festival, come solista e in duo violoncello e pianoforte, nel 2020 debutta per la Camerata Musicale Barese. Nel 2022 si qualifica alle fasi finali del leggendario Tchaikovsky International Piano competition for young tra oltre 500 partecipanti da tutto il mondo, unico pianista europeo ammesso, aggiudicandosi il premio speciale della giuria. Attualmente studia sotto la guida del Maestro Alessandro Deljavan.
